Major problems involved in locating a site such as this are no permanent markers and no records of men buried at the site. Wartime markers (if any) would have been wooden slats, and without a source of significant funds to purchase stone markers, these wouldn't have outlasted Reconstruction. Unfortunately this is a situation common to one-time graveyards near Confederate camps and hospitals.
