Re: Sharpshooters at Corinth & Hatchie Bridge

Allen, I can not find it either, now. It referenced the forming of some of the sharpshooter battalions into regiments, unlike the 2nd Texas which was already a sharpshooter regiment. The 2nd had been allowed to put Shiloh on their flag and were designated Sharpshooters of Moore's Brigade after Shiloh, from another site (http://www.acwsa.org/Pages/Team%20Pages/2nd_Texas_Sharpshooters.htm). I just Googled this site as a last gesture. Basically I looked only at sharpshooter references when I started to add this paragraph to my Bridges/Stirman study. To night I looked at the Second Infantry references and could not find what I was looking for. I did notice that the 2nd was employed in all the references as Infantry except one where they were acting as skirmishers. Had the same problem with Stirman's Sharpshooters. They seem to have been employed as Infantry except at Hatchie Bridge where they fell back and deployed as sharpshooters. I will find where I saw that reference.
