Mr. Brown Mount Vernon ,Al is actually located on the Mobile River . Fort Stoddard is located on the river this was in Creek Indian War 1813 .which is about 2 miles from the town to the east and is boat launch now. The Alabama River is about 4 miles north. This actually junction where the Alabama River and Tombigbee run together and form the Mobile River . This is rich in history. I have not run across any information as a hospital located at the arsenal.
Ron there are a number of steamboats which are on the bottom of the both rivers. I know there was website which listed some of these, but I can not remember the address of the web site. Mr. Brown I have several questions ask about Green County , Miss. Fell free to email edjmiller4190@att.net
