Hello, I've been trying to find out what Alabama Regiment my great great Uncle was in. All I know is that he was a Captain and was killed and/or may have died on a Yankee prisoner ship and was thrown overboard. His name was William Booker Preston and was originally from Bedford County, Virginia. He was married and lived in Alabama. Any information you could find for me I would deeply appreciate.
