CSA Burials in Burkeville, VA area

My ancestor's brother, (Jacob) Wiley Sanders, , Tallapoosa Co., AL, 47th Alabama Inf. Reg't., was shot in the thigh on June 21nd, 1864, I believe during the Battle of The Jerusalem Road south of Petersburg, VA. The leg was amputated well above the knee, he "badly suffered" with complications, and died October 1, 1864 at Wayside Hospital in Burkeville, VA., southwest of Petersburg. I am in hopes that since he was not likely buried in a rush as many were right after a battle, that there is some recording of his burial place. There were a few cemeteries in the Burkeville area (i.e. Old St. Lukes Church) during that time but I have not found one specifically mentioned as where the hospital dead were interred or an online list of interments. Perhaps he was taken to one of the larger cemeteries in Richmond, Appomattox, etc. Because so many soldiers did not have a gravestone, I'm not expecting to find one of those.

I have received copies of Wiley's official CSA records and did not find burial mentioned. In my research of CSA hospitals I learned that burial records were kept separate from medical records. However, I have not found where those records are archived. I've looked online in several places, including NARA, and have not found an indication where. (I would have thought the NARA would but maybe I overlooked it.) Any help as to where the burial records are archived or where the hospital burials around the Burkville area took place, would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
