Butt's Company of Exempts (Volunteer Guards), 1st Regiment Mobile Volunteers, mustered into service only to do duty in defense of the City of Mobile, April 15, 1864, age 38, recommended to Colonel of the Regiment, n.d., Lieut. Colonel at War's end
