George-- THANK you for the information. I believe I read that he was wounded on his application for a military pension? Can't remember exactly where it is in my documents but the date that was listed corresponded with the action during the Seven Days War...specifically the date of the Gaines Mill encounter. I've not come across a Lucius Pinckard in the family but it does seem likely that they were somehow related having mustering in at the same place and time. I've also seen records with information that matches his age and home town at least in the CSA going by "H Pinckard" so perhaps he was known as Henry or even Hank? (or that's another sibling or cousin). I think my dad has the family Bible so maybe that will shed some more light as to what name he went by. I'll keep scouring and see what else I can find based on the information you've provided. Thanks again!
