Since Maxey's command passed through Huntsville a day earlier moving west, it may be that these officers and men dropped off at the Hunstville depot for one reason or another. The accident may have involved the man mentioned and few if anyone else. The attempted passage of a train moving east through Huntsville on April 11th would suggest no hindrance due to accident involving a train or rail cars.
