Good point. This would have been in March/April, 1865. Supposedly there was a group of old men making shoes and saddles for the CSA in a cave near Terrapin Creek. Union commander (Croxton - ?) may have heard of this operation and sent a company (possibly from the 2nd Michigan Cavalry) to break up the boot factory. They were ambushed, possibly by the 28th TN Cavalry, several bluecoats killed. This would have occurred in Cleburne/Calhoun Counties. May have been right after the "battle" at Munford (or Munford Station).
