thanks for all the input.... we were actually out that way today, we investigated once out by the clump of trees and directly across the road from the marker inside the fence and toward a small grove of trees we discovered a natural spring it apparently has been used as a dump by farmers etc., that is where i found some very old bottles. a couple looked like they were medicinal.... my husband and i have copies of deeds to the land and what was on it all the back to the early 1900s. mostly farming, so we wonder why nothing more than what was unearthed was ever found. i really hate knowing that all those men who fought and died are all but forgotten.
