Re: Confederate Prisoners at Island 10
My great great grandmother had two brothers to serve in the 1st Alabama and fought at Island 10. One was KIA and the other captured. He was sent to camp Butler in Illinois and died there a few months later before a prisoner exchange was arranged. Their last name was Stockton. The birth and death dates of both are in an old family bible that may be in possession of Alabama state representitive Johnny Robinson of Scottsboro Al.
