I'm afraid I can't be of much help. I was probably 12 or 13 the last time I was there (and that's over 50 years ago). We only went there on a few occasions as kids. Any memory of actual balls on the site is more likely from the fact that everyone called it "The old cannonball factory", than from actually seeing them. I would guess that if there had been any there before my time, other generations had carted them off by then. As far as bridge piers, I don't recall seeing anything like that. In fact, since about all that was there was a stone wall overgrown with vines and weeds, my initial reaction was a kid's disappointment. I thought I would see something more resembling what I thought a factory ought to look like. We made up for it by killing lots of Yankees though! Wish I could be of more assistance.
