According to the "Tennessee Veteran Questionnaires," an soldier from Iuka, MS named J. W. Williams, who served in the 4th AL Cavalry Roddey), wrote an article entitled: "Private's Reminiscenses of the Battle of Shiloh." It was published prior to 1922 by the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
