Looks like Adeline Powers and daughter Mollie [and I guess son Jimmy] moved south after husband John did not return after the War.

I think I will pursue the CSA records of the John Powers who is listed on the AL Civil War Service Database as
having enlisted in Capt. J.S. Pemberton's Cavalry. From what I can find, it looks like these soldiers provided
local defense for Muscogee Co., Georgia, on the Alabama borderline.
This Cavalry was organized 2 July 1864 from "exempts, details and disabled men."

Wonder what "exempts" and "details" mean? I do not know if my g'g'g'grandfather was disabled or not.
