I'm not sure where to look next for my missing CSA g'g'g'grandfather John M. Powers.
He was found in Coosa Co, AL in 1850 census with wife and daughter. Daughter had
been born 8 months prior in Chambers Co, AL. We have not been able to find this
family and their 8 year son Jimmy/James in any 1860 AL census. I saw a list for the
1860 Troup Co, GA census that names "Powers 149B" but do not know what this
means and cannot find details. A John M. Powers, Private, enlisted in 47th infantry
in Troup Co, GA, but I cannot identify what regiment or company. Any suggestions?

Perhaps I should make a new post under John M. Powers instead of replying under
John C. Powers since he has been eliminated as a posssibility.
