I'm now 72 years old and know that I have to make arrangements to place this treasure with an agency which can adequately care for and protect them while making them available to researchers and other interested citizens. While I'd like to donate them to the local Mobile archives, where I think they really belong, I've learned that the archives is just not equipped to care for and preserve the letters, so I'll probably place them with the Alabama archives in Montgomery, which I understand does have the facilities to preserve and protect them and can also make the documents available online.

I'm also planning to contact a local historical writer to find out whether he would like to write a newspaper article about the the letters and the many adventures of Savier Thompson.

I have no plans to make the letters available to the public until I've worked out the plan for permanent disposition of them.
