All I could find in the records indicates that he was present on the Mar-Apr '62 muster roll having enlisted in or near Mobile on 11 Mar 62. The May-Jun '62 roll shows him absent without leave and the 2 or 3 rolls after that state: "Deserted near Richmond July 29, '62."
