Re: Captain Rinaldo McKeen Greene 6th AL Regt
Thank you Brandon. Saves a trip to Opelika. I knew a Dr. Ri. Greene in the 1990s who was on staff in Tuscaloosa. Is he the same? I also knew Paul of Fairhope and John in Mobile. Capt. Rinaldo McKeen Greene was born on the N side of Lake Iamonia, Leon Co., FL in 1837. His mother was Mary Ann Fair of Charleston, SC. She was sister to my gr gr gm Frances Fair who was married to James Rinaldo Nicks. Hence, the name Rinaldo to your family and of Frances and Mary Ann's other sister, Elizabeth Jane Fair Van Brunt whose son, Rinaldo Francis Van Brunt rose to the rank of Major General during WWII in the U. S. Army. The Fair siblings' brother, Joseph Harrison Fair also named some descendants Rinaldo. I'll attempt contact with Dr. Ri. Greene. Contact me if you want more on the Leon Co.,FL; Thomas Co. GA; Charleston, SC migration of the Fair siblings before moving to Columbus, GA and finally Opelika, AL. Their mother, Elizabeth Harrison Fair Nicks died in 1845 in Girard, Russell Co., GA in 1845. Pass along to others.
