Re: Captain Rinaldo McKeen Greene 6th AL Regt
Brandon, I was sending in between your reply. I lost contact with your father about the time your brother, Paul was sick. I still have his gracious letters and have piece-mealed the migration of the Fair-Nicks-Greene-Van Brunt-Burr-Sauls families as they migrated out of SC/GA into Thomasville, GA (where your line James Russell Greene mar. Mary Anna/Anne Fair in June 1832). They moved into the cluster of families before mid 1830s and are on the 1840 Census for Leon Co., FL. Note Mary Anna/Anne's spelling. She was the eldest of the Fair girls. I have lived in both Mobile and Tallahassee twice so know those areas well. Your ancestor, J. R. Greene did use only Green, but is known more as Greene. J. R. G.'s father, McKeen Greene was both a Rev. War veteran and was involved in the Florida Patriot War of 1814. They moved into Florida before it became a Territory. Chas.
