I have four Barkers listed and the only one I think might be worthy of a closer look is Pvt. John A. Barker of Co. A, 47th Alabama Infantry. He is listed as having been paroled at Appomattox, Va. April 9, 1865. That company was mostly from the central part of the county. I don't have anything else on him. Of the other three one was KIA at Gettysburg and the other two were likely in the Western Theatre at the end of the war. None of them are L. or J.L. Barkers.
