I just know that he would have died between 1864 and 1870. My grandpa was born in Dec. 1864 and he was the last child that was born to Eizabeth, his mother. And in 1872, she said that she was the only surviving parent of the 2nd daughter, Martha, that was being married. If you read the previous messages to Alan and George, etc., I have dates of the children, with my Grandpa being the last one. When was the Mexican war fought???????? I do know more about the Civil War, because I had 3 great grandfather's that fought in it. But never studied the Mexican War.
