John Thomas Kellogg

My G-G-Grandfather, John Thomas Kellogg was in the Civil War, I have found his militaty recotds stating that Jihn Thomas Kellogg enlisted in the Confederate Army 1861 - 1865 as a private (Capt. J.M. Blair Company - Likens Battalion - Texas Volunteers - age 26 years. Appears on: Company Muster - in Roll of the organization named above Roll dated: Sabine Pass, Texas October 1, 1861

Jiohn Thomas Kellogg married Sarah J. Burgess in March 6, 1867 in Jefferson Co., TX - They had three children, but John Thomas Kellogg died befor the birth of the third child, my Great-Grandfather, George Lee Kellogg who was adopted by Philip Debat, and Sarah and her two older children went to Orange, TX and lived with the Oliver Bland Family. This was my last known info on them. I have never been able to find out when or where John Thomas Kellogg died or where he is buried, and the same with his wife. John Thomas Kellogg was a Justice of the Peace.

My question is - With having his Civil War records, is there any way of finging out when and where he died and was buried, and if his wife collected a widows pension

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. I am wanting to know this information so I find his grave, and see if he has a heastone, and if not, I want to get him one.

Thank you

Sandy
