Are you able to do research at the ADAH in Montgomery? Original rolls are there. None of them have the name 'Fowler' on them; Bob Bradley at the ADAH called my attention to the origin of these rolls and Colonel Fowler's role in collecting this information. From that point forward, I've always referenced them as the Fowler rolls.

Rolls from the ADAH are available via an Ancestry subscription. Since these rolls were recorded on two sided booklets and images are made one page at a time, it's necessary to align the images to get casualty information right. Faded ink on these rolls dates from the end of 1864, so reading parts of them will be difficult.
