I just learned about an older person (name withheld by descendant) who was conscripted for Confederate service during the Civil War. That info was a surprise to me since I hadn't previously read about such events taking place during the Civil War. Am wondering where those records can be found? Are they mixed in with the regular records and, if so, is there something on a person's CW record to show he was a conscript? Otherwise, how would one learn if a person was a conscript?
