Don't know where he is buried, but this poor guy got a lot of hassle from the state regarding his pension. He apparently made several unsuccessful attempts early on. Was finally awarded a pension in 1904 or shortly thereafter. Then the state pension bureau, in 1914, preferred a charge against him that he was ineligible for the pension as he was not found on the rolls of Co E, 19th Ga. He must have gotten that finally straightened out, because in 1918, he applied to be moved from second class to first class on account of turning 80 years of age. This was filed from Cullman County. I don't know what the problem was with finding his records. He apparently served honorably, having been wounded in the hand and thigh at Fredricksburg, and in the shoulder at Chacellorsville. At one point, shortly after his admission to the hospital after Fredricksburg, he is shown as deserted, but is back with his company soon afterward. I hope he got apologies for the runaround, but doubt it. He deserved better treatment.
