Whiskey makes the pain of loss and defeat more bearable, especially Pennsylvania whiskey! I followed my paycheck north and have lived here in southeastern Pennsylvania since early 1983 (30+ years!!) and, if you can believe it, have never sampled Pennsylvania whiskey. This "off topic" exchange has motivated me to go get some and try it!! I'll let you know how it goes down! I'm still trying to shake off the drubbing Nick Saban's boys gave my LSU Tigers this past weekend.

Scott Mingus' book on the Louisiana Tigers is an excellent narrative. My wife and I went on a tour sponsored by the Harrisburg Civil War Roundtable just after the book came out with Scott as the tour guide. Got to see places that I might not have found on my own between York and Gettysburg. But I did get a little tired of hearing about the Tigers drinking whiskey and terrorizing all the local inhabitants. It was their own (the Pennsylvania farmer's) whiskey!! Which is the greater sin - making it or drinking it?
