Pvt. J. D. Haynes, Co. D 21st Alabama was captured at Fort Gaines sent to New Orleans then to Ship Island and exchanged in January of 65. He must have returned to the Regiment as he was surrendered in Citronelle, AL in May of 65 and paroled at Meridian, MS. AG
