I found one other record for a William Harbin from Alabama (other than a couple with different middle initials and a W.L. from Guntersville). There is only one card in his file and it indicates that William Harbin, Co. I, 8th Alabama Cavalry, appears on a register of paroles given at Columbus, Mississippi, May 28, 1865. Often, with many cavalry units, this final card at the end of the war is the only indication that an individual served.
