Actually, of the 44 members of the Winston County Rough and Readys in 1860, 26 of them have documented service in the Confederate Army, or 59%. Statistically, that is significant. Well over half of them.

Henry Bibb, John and Tyra Tathan became Confederate Captains. Miles Taylor was a 1st Lieutenant.

Four of the 44 have documented service in 1st Alabama Cavalry, USA. Any service for the rest was undetermined.
