I understand some of the killed at Chickamauga were buried in Marietta, Ga. However, he is not listed as buried there, see: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=33381

There were three other Pollards in Company B, most likely kin. They all survived the war. It could be possible that they were able to return his body home.
