To start with, this young man you're asking about did not serve in the 10th Alabama Regt. The man who served in the 10th Alabama was age 21 when he enlisted in St. Clair County in 1861.

If not already enlisted, a young man who turned 17 in 1864 should have enrolled in the Junior Reserves.

There are several men named Jesse Reeves who served in Alabama units. Some died during the war. I would help if we know if this man survived the war or not. If he did, where did he live and did he marry? Birth and death dates would be useful.
