I can't take credit for this - found it on another message board from 2009 - written by our own esteemed Alan Pitts:

"You probably are referring to Capt. B. O. Ramey, Co. "B", Hardie's Alabama Cavalry Reserves. In 1860 B. O. Ramey was a clerk, age 30, born SC, living in White Plains, Calhoun County AL. His company included a number of men from Randolph County AL. Officers and men organized at Blue Mountain AL, about May 15, 1864."
