Frank La Porte, enlisted 1862, as machinist, in the Confederate Navy yard, at Selma, Alabama;
transferred, 1863, to a torpedo boat, and sent to Fort Morgan; then sent to the Navy yard at McIntosh Bluff; took oath of allegiance to the United States, 1865. [ADAH.]
