Sometimes in the past, there were different spellings of places that were recognized by the people of that time. For example "Spottsylvania" (old) versus "Spotsylvania" (current). Some records I have found related to Hilliby/Hillabee have both spellings, and I wanted to know what was preferred in the 1860s. . . or perhaps it could be that some of the men just spelled it like it sounded.
