Yes! I was extremely happy to see all the reports that had not made it into the original volume of the O.R. collected together and published as a supplement. I was afraid something like that might never happen. Thank you very much for the work you did to bring this about!

Over the years I had collected some of these reports through various sources (reports by Brooks, Fagan, and Shoup), but I had never seen the others until the supplement came out. All these reports have a wealth of information that add to our understanding of the battle. If these reports had never surfaced, and we had to rely on what was only in the original volume of the O.R., we would really be hurting when it comes to understanding the battle of Prairie Grove from the Confederate perspective.

I'm still hoping that someday the other missing Confederate reports will surface. I think there is a decent chance that the letter by Col. Hawthorn is actually a copy of his official report- minus the part where he is critical of General Hindman. If it isn't, I imagine his report isn't a whole lot different than what we just read.
