Once again Bryan, thanks for the detailed information about yet another Arkansas unit.

After the regiment was broken up, you indicate that Co I and Co K were formed into Bridges' Bn of sharpshooters, and continued as such until the Spring of 63.

The parent units [6th and 9th Tex Cav] of these 2 companies had been remounted about the same time that Stirman's regiment was broken up.

Did Bridges' battalion serve dismounted until the Spring of 63, or did they act as a mounted sharpshooter battalion? I would imagine that these 2 companies would have been highly PO'd to continue as infantry while seeing their respective regiments re-mount their horses brought back from Texas.
