I've transcribed the diary of an officer in the 9th Iowa Infantry during the Pea Ridge campaign. In it, he wrote that between Feb 23 and March 1, '62 he was in charge of 2 mills that he refers to as the "Spring Valley Mills". He stated that the mills were 3 miles from Camp Halleck (Cross Hollows) and that the owner of the upper mill was Col Black and the owner of the lower mill was Dr Blake.

Are these the mills at War Eagle or another site along the White River?
