Re: 1st Arkansas 'Union' Volunteer Cavalry

The 1st Arkansas was scattered at different times, from the fall of 1862 until the summer of 1865 doing anti-guerrilla work throughout NW Arkansas. It ultimately was the Federal 'law' from north of Fort Smith to Springfield, MO, and ran its own 'little war' against the Confederate irregulars and criminal gangs operating in the region.
