Pension Lookup Please?

Hi! I am really hoping that someone might be able to help me find out if a pension file exists in either Mississippi or Arkansas for this fellow. I have hit a brick wall with this line and am hoping a pension file might provide a little more information. I do have his service record, which states that he was wounded in battle and later discharged due to "disability." I live in Alaska and feel that I have exhausted my research by computer, and I've been having trouble getting any microfilms up here that might be helpful.

I am looking for a pension record for:

John A. Mothershead (or Mothershed), Private, 4th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry, CSA.

Here's what I know about him. He was born about 1835 in Mississippi (so far, all signs point to Carrollton, MS). He married Martha Wiltshire, and after the war, they moved to Arkansas. He died in Arkansas around 1880. My hunch is that if a pension application was filed, it would have been filed by Martha.

If anyone has access to a Confederal pension file index for either Mississippi or Arkansas and can look this up for me, I'd be very grateful!
