I noticed your response to Jack Michael Vaughn online. There is one problem with placing the William R. Vaughan that Linda and Jack are looking for in the same sibling group as Milton H. Vaughan and Edwin L. Vaughan. Their William R was born in 1803 and was the son of James Vaughan and Sarah LeGrand Vaughan. Unless I am mistaken, your Edwin L. was the son of Edwin and Rebecca Owen Vaughan not James and Sarah. The problem is that the names keep repeating for 3 or 4 generations. It is hard to tell sometimes which generation we are looking at. The brother of Milton H. Vaughan, Edwin L. Vaughan (who was a prisoner of war, with Milton, during the civil war) was 14 years old in 1850. That means he was born in 1836. That would make William R. Vaughan (born in 1803) 47 years old in 1850. Since Edwin Vaughan was 52 in 1850, that William R. could not be Edwin’s son. There are two William Vaughans, two Milton Vaughans, two James L. Vaughans and two Edwin Vaughans. I have a copy of the 1850 census showing the children of Edwin Vaughan and Rebecca Owen Vaughan. William was not living with them, but I have info that indicates that this William may have been born around 1815 so he would have been 35. Edwin and Rebecca would have been 17 when he was born and they did not get married until 1819 when they were both 21…This William is an illusive guy.
