My great grandfather, James C. Cattin, born in 1820, was a physician during the Civil War.

He lived in and around Pope County, Arkansas, near Dover, Arkansas and died there in December, 1870.

He was NOT in either army but, according to family members, "treated both sides."

He is listed in the census from 1850-1870 and the notation is "Physician."

Would anyone have any special knowledge of him. His name was often misspelled as Catton, Caton, Cotton, Catin.
