The following is all that I have re the Civil War service for James S. Ball:

Ball, J. S.,Pvt. Co. I. 27th La. Infty. En. Shreveport, La., May 1st, 1862. Present on All Rolls to Dec., 1862.

On or about 17 August 1861 James S. Ball married Clay Porrier in a civil ceremony in Caddo Parish, LA.

I have been unable to locate the couple following those two events. I have checked with both the LA Archives and the TX Archives with no success. I have also checked census records for LA., MS., AR., and TX.

Any and all help in locating the place of residence of this couple will be very much appreciated.
