Hey, I hadn't even thought about getting authors to get involved and answer questions about their books. There are a few I would give anything to talk to. Great idea, Chuck. Do you think Jim would go for it?

By the way, the Granbury's Brigade book had a little more information about the sailors manning the big guns at Fort Hindman than I had read before. Also a little about Hart's Battery. Of course the emphasis is on the Texans. The author cites extensively One of Cleburne's Command: The Civil War Reminiscences and Diary of Capt. Samuel T. Foster, Granbury's Texas Brigade, CSA. Do you have a copy? If not, then I highly recommend it -- both for the accounts of Fort Hindman and of General Cleburne. Also for a less-than-flattering account of service under Bragg. Bragg was not at the top of Captain Foster's hit parade!
