Re: Confederate casualties at Jenkins' Ferry

Virginia Davis GRAY's 1863-1865 diary published 1983 in Arkansas Historical Quaerterly touches upon the Jenkins Ferry wounded.

She also did a drawing of the Dallas county court house (used as a hospital) for Dr Die[Dye] which he sent to Richmond (possibly is AHC's, #3249?)
She also mentioned her Presbyterian church was used as a hospital, no doubt the other two church buildings were also hospitals.

Example: May 17, 1864 --- Tuesday

"Found there were two poor miserable men, both neglected and miserable. Carried them milk yesterday. One poor thing is just dying of neglect. I told the nurses I would come up and quarrel with them if they let him die." etc, etc & etc.

Earlier she mentions: April 30, 1864: "There was a hard fought battle at Jenkin's Ferry where we lost two Brigadier Gen. killed and one wounded and about five hundred me --- a sad loss but the enemy was completely routed --- burning his entire train beyond the Saline" (see annotation #82 by Dr Carl H Moneyhon on page 84).
