Drew, there's been a suggestion made that Jim set up a Civil War book-review discussion board, sort of like this Arkansas board, where authors could discuss their books, and readers could post reviews of them.

One of the things I like about Amazon's website is that reader reviews usually appear along with the publisher's official release. Of course, I've never heard of most of the reviewers, so I would love to see a discussion board where the reviews are posted by people I know and whose opinions I value and respect.

In the meantime, though, we can still post reviews on this board. I try to do that every so often, if I come across a book that I think might interest fellow Arkansas researchers -- or, on rare occasions, one that in my opinion is a waste of money.

What makes me very, very happy is that there are enough new Civil War books being published to make such a review board feasible!
