OK Bryan. - you don't suppose that the 13th LA. Batt. was one of those "mystery Louisiana Units" that Gen'l John S. Roane was sending to Arkansas from Monroe, Louisiana in June and July 1862, that prompted Gen'l Hindman to send Roane a telegram in July 1862 saying "for god sake don't send any more cavalry, dismount them and send them as Infantry.", Do you?

It also prompts me to wonder about the other Louisiana units that had Arkansas contingents in them. If they may not have been formed in Monroe and sent north in the same way in the summer of 1862? And how extensively these Louisiana Units operated along the lower Arkansas and Mississippi River?

Any thoughts on this?
