Steve, I've seen a short article in "Confederate Veteran" by a participant at Moscow - he describes Indian cavalry fleeing from Federal artillery fire as his unit arrives on the field. I've also seen an article in the MOLLUS collection by a Federal officer who credits artillery fire with driving off Indians attacking Thayer at Moscow. I suspect the Indians involved were members of Tandy Walker's Choctaw Brigade. Its my understanding that Gano was not wounded at Moscow, but was actually wounded one or two days later.
