My great grandfather left his home in Johnson Co. Arkansas, to join up with the Army of the Confederacy only to fall ill enroute to the Induction Center. This was probably in 1864, somewhere in Arkansas. He died of the disease while being cared for by the attending medical officer, but was never sworn in due to his being sick. Can anyone tell me the names and locations of the Induction Centers in Arkansas? Also, is there any record of non-military patients deaths at these locales?
