Re: COLONEL JOHN LEROY LOGAN - 11TH ARKANSAS INF..

Kenneth,

You may already have this information, but you can find on Page 88 of The Garden of Memory the following brief sketch of John L. Logan. It is as follows: "enlisted in 1861 and was elected captain of Company B, Camden Knights, Eleventh Arkansas Regiment. The following year, when the regiment was reorganized, he was elected colonel. Was in the siege of Port Hudson, and afterwards commanded a brigade under General Joseph E. Johnston. He was succeeded by General Wirt Adams and was transferred to the Trans-Mississippi Department, where he served till the close of the war."

In that same book (page 40) under the heading, Escape from Federal Prison, by J. E. Lide, there is a reference to Capt. John L. Logan who was the commander of their unit.

Hope this provides a little more information that you can use.
