I am searching for William McCarley born in 1842 son of George and Olivia McCarley from Clarksville Ar. Johnson County. His family moved to Texas in the 1860's and I cannot find a record of him. Could he possibly have been in the Civil War and killed. The family had another William born in 1859 in Texas. The only explanation for me is that the first one was killed or died and they named another child by that name. He should have been old enough to serve in that war I think. I would appreciate any help anyone might offer.
